Our most popular river trip option! This is the longest trip tubers can do. Tubing is a 2 – 4 hour trip, depending on the current. Canoeing and kayaking is a 1 – 2.5 hour trip, depending on the current and the customer

Picking Your River Trip
The Hocking River is a Class I river so it is safe & enjoyable for all ages. Once you select your river trip, we can adjust your reservation as needed. Once you are on the river… you are on the river!
3 Mile River Trip
The 3 mile river trip will take anywhere from 2 – 4 hours for tubing and 1 – 2.5 hours for canoeing and kayaking. This trip operates 9AM – 3PM, every day. We have an “early exit” location halfway through the trip where guests can get out if they wish. No refunds for exiting the river earlier than expected.
6 Mile River Trip
The 6 mile river trip will take anywhere from 2 – 4 hours for canoeing and kayaking. This trip operates from 9AM – 3PM, every day. The time on the river will vary depending on the river conditions and if guests stop at all. Guests can do an “early exit” 1.5 mile before the normal exit. No refunds for exiting the river earlier than expected.
8 Mile River Trip
The 8 mile river trip will take anywhere from 3 – 5 hours for canoeing and kayaking. This trip only operates from 9AM – 1 PM, every day. The time on the river will vary depending on the river conditions and if guests stop at all. Guests can do an “early exit” 1.5 mile before the normal exit. No refunds for exiting the river earlier than expected.

We want you to have an experience of a lifetime renting a canoe, kayak, or tube on the Hocking River! Do your part by coming adequately prepared for your river adventure.
Trip Length
No matter the river trip you choose, the time on the river will vary from 2 – 4 hours, depending on the current. Bring plenty of sunscreen, water, and snacks for your trip.
Weight Limit
Our river rentals can accommodate anywhere between 250 to 300 lbs. We have specialized equipment and recommendations for larger guests. Please contact us prior to making your reservation if you have additional questions.
Attire & Items to Bring
Guests should come prepared for any type of weather. Wear bathing suits and water shoes/sandals. You will get wet! Bring spare clothes, a beach towel, plenty of beverages and snacks, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, and a water proof case for an enjoyable river trip!

Your rental comes with a lifejacket, paddle, rope, and transportation.
Coolers
Guests will be on the Hocking River for long periods of time. We recommend that guests bring a cooler with snacks and beverages. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on Ohio waterways. Guests are responsible for cleaning up their trash. Do not liter in river!
Meeting Place & Time
Guests should come to our office located at 1299 E. Canal St. Nelsonville, OH 45764. Plan on arriving 15 – 30 mins prior to your scheduled reservation time to go over waiver and basic river training. If you are late, you may experience additional wait times.

Canoe, Kayak & Tube Rental Rules & Policies
At Adventure Pro River Trips safety is our #1 concern. We do the best to ensure the safety our customers. We expect our customers to practice safe canoeing, kayaking, and tubing on the Hocking River. Renting this equipment can be potentially dangerous, however if you listen to the experts in outdoor fun you will have an enjoyable experience.
16 Years Older
To rent a canoe, kayak, or tube guests must be older than 16 years old. Guests younger than 16 years must be accompanied by an adult rider (18 or older). Each adult is responsible for signing an electronic waiver for them self and any minors in the group.
Minimum age
We allow children as young as 3 years old to go on the Hocking River. We have limited number of child life jackets. We recommend bringing your own. Children 12 & younger must wear life jacket at all times. DO NOT TRY TO SNEAK UNDERAGE CHILDREN ONTO OUR BUSES. If caught, we will terminate your trip and no refund will be given.
Rental Gear
Rental comes with a life jacket, paddle, and rope. Children 12 and younger are required to wear a life jacket at all times. Adults are recommend to wear life jackets at all times, however it is not necessary. Life jacket must be on vessel. There are no lifeguards on the river. Dress appropriately because you will get wet.
Equipment Safety
Always be aware of objects in water. When necessary and in shallow enough water, step out of the vessel to re-direct yourself from objects or to prevent “bottoming-out” your equipment.
Respect Property
Do not litter in the river, on our property, or on public property. If you bring a cooler, you are responsible for cleaning up after yourself. Do not leave any deflated tubes on the river. Bring them back to our facility.
Group Safety
Communication is the key to safe canoeing, kayaking, and tubing. Openly communicate with your group to avoid any issues. Always stay with your group. Never stray away from your group. Warn your group of upcoming objects, strong currents, etc. We do our best to mark the river for the safest routes.
Prohibited Substances
It is illegal to consume and to have alcohol or drugs on an Ohio waterway. We do not condone the use of prohibited substances on the Hocking River.
Weather Policy
Weather in Ohio can change throughout the day. We cannot control the weather. No refunds will be given due to inclement weather. Come prepared to float rain or shine.
Cancellations & Refunds
We understand that sometimes unexpected circumstances come up and cancellations become necessary. It is our policy to grant refunds if notified 7 days prior to arrival date minus a $10 processing fee and booking agent fee. If cancelled within 7 days of arrival date you will be offered the opportunity to reschedule by receiving a gift card credit to be used. The chance to reschedule expires after one year. We still operate in the rain unless there is lightning. In the event of bad weather or lightning you will have the opportunity to reschedule. The chance to reschedule expires after one year. Thank you for your understanding.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding River Trips
Are there any age requirements?The youngest that we allow on our river trips is 6 years old when river conditions are normal. We do not allow children younger than 6 years old on the river. If customers are caught trying to sneak anyone onto our buses or trips, their trip will be terminated, and no refund will be given.
Are the river trips guided?No, our river trips are not guided. We send our customers out by themselves. There is signage posted along the river to help inform customers on their where-abouts.
What is the weight capacity for canoe, kayak, and tube rentals?A canoe can hold up to 500 pounds. Our kayaks and tubes can hold up to 250 – 300 pounds. We have specific kayaks that are good for larger guests.
Are reservations required?Yes, we require reservations for canoeing, kayaking, and tubing especially on weekends and holiday weekends. Reservations are required to be PAID IN FULL at the time of booking. Reservation guarantees you boats and tubes on your chosen day and time. We allow walk-ins throughout the week. Walk-ins may not be accepted on weekends.
What is the cancellation policy?We understand that sometimes unexpected circumstances come up and cancellations become necessary. It is our policy to grant refunds if notified 7 days prior to arrival date minus a $10 processing fee. If cancelled within 7 days of arrival date you will be offered the opportunity to reschedule by receiving a promo code credit to be used. The chance to reschedule expires after one year.
We do not offer refunds due to high or low water, but we will give you the opportunity to reschedule your trip with us or receive a voucher for a future trip. We still operate in the rain unless there is lightning. In the event of bad weather or lightning you will have the opportunity to reschedule. The chance to reschedule expires after one year. - What is the best time for a river trip?
Most customers visit us for a river trip from 10AM – 2PM. Those are our busiest times which could result in some wait times. We recommend starting earlier in the day to avoid large crowds and potential wait times.
When does the season start and end?River Trip season runs from April to October. This could vary year to year depending on the weather and river conditions. We operate 7 days a week from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Reservations are required during our season.
How long are the river trips?Guests should plan to be on the river anywhere from 2 – 6 hours depending on the trip that they have selected. The 3-mile river trip will take 2 – 4 hours in a tube and 1 – 2.5 hours in a canoe or kayak. The 6-mile trip will take 2 – 4 hours in a canoe or kayak. The 8-mile trip will take 3 – 5 hours in a canoe or kayak.

Do we require you to sign a waiver prior to participating?Yes, we do require ALL guests to sign a waiver prior to participating in water activities. Electronic waivers are provided in the “Booking Confirmation” and “Waiver Reminder” email which are sent to guests after booking online.
