ATV/UTV Trips

  • Are there any age requirements?

    Yes, the youngest we allow on our guided ATV/UTV tours is 6 years old. We do not allow children younger than 6 years old on the guided tours. Children must ride on UTVs. No children will be permitted on ATVs.

  • Are the ATV/UTV trips guided?

    Yes, the ATV/UTV trips are guided. Our tour guides take our customers on a series of easy to intermediate trails throughout Wayne National Forest. Our guides help ensure the safety of our customers, but also show them how much fun it is to experience life off-road.

  • Is there a down payment?

    Yes, guests are required to pay 50% at the time of reservation. The remaining 50% balance is due upon arrival. Guests have the option to pay their reservation in full at the time of booking.

  • Are reservations required?

    Yes, reservations are required for our guided ATV/UTV trips. We send customers out for a half day tour at 8AM or 1PM. Our full day tours begin at 8AM. We cannot accept walk-ins for guided ATV/UTV tours.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    Guests can cancel and receive a full refund up to 3 days before their scheduled reservation date. Within the 3 days of their reservation, guests cannot receive a refund and they forfeit their reservation. Processed cancellations can take up to 5 – 7 business days for the refund to be processed.

  • Are there waivers to fill out for our trip?

    Yes, all participants are required to fill out a waiver prior to partaking in the guided tour. Guests can sign an electronic copy of the waiver prior to arrival. Upon arrival, guests will be required to sign a hard copy of the waiver, as well.

  • How long are the trips?

    The trips are either half day or full day. A half day trip is from 8AM – 12PM with 3 hours dedicated to riding. A full day trip is from 8AM – 5PM with 6 hours dedicated to riding. The additional 2 hours are for breaks, lunch, and some stops.

  • What should I wear for a guided ATV/UTV tour?

    Guests should come prepared for any type of weather. It can be sunny and 75 and then start raining. We do not give refunds due to weather so make sure you dress appropriately and bring spare clothes. Long pants are required. Boots are recommended. Remember, you may get muddy!

  • Where is check in?

    Check in is located at our headquarters. Guest should come to 1299 E. Canal St. Nelsonville, OH 45764 for check in.

  • Do we require you to sign a waiver prior to participating?

    Yes, we do require ALL guests to sign a waiver prior to participating in water activities. Electronic waivers are provided in the “Booking Confirmation” and “Waiver Reminder” email which are sent to guests after booking online. Prior to arrival, guests can sign their waivers electronically via the email. For ATV/UTV Rentals, we do make guests sign the waiver upon arrival no matter what. If guests experience issues with the electronic waiver, here is a downloadable version

River Trips

  • Are there any age requirements?

    The youngest that we allow on our river trips is 6 years old when river conditions are normal. We do not allow children younger than 6 years old on the river. If customers are caught trying to sneak anyone onto our buses or trips, their trip will be terminated, and no refund will be given.

  • Are the river trips guided?

    No, our river trips are not guided. We send our customers out by themselves. There is signage posted along the river to help inform customers on their where-abouts.

  • What is the weight capacity for canoe, kayak, and tube rentals?

    A canoe can hold up to 500 pounds. Our kayaks and tubes can hold up to 250 – 300 pounds. We have specific kayaks that are good for larger guests.

  • Are reservations required?

    Yes, we require reservations for canoeing, kayaking, and tubing especially on weekends and holiday weekends. Reservations are required to be PAID IN FULL at the time of booking. Reservation guarantees you boats and tubes on your chosen day and time. We allow walk-ins throughout the week. Walk-ins may not be accepted on weekends.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

    We do not offer refunds for our river trips. We have a “rain day” and “high river” plan put in place to help get our customers out on the water. If river conditions are too high, we will send our customers to Lake Hope State Park where they can canoe or kayak for the respective amount of time of their river trip. The 3-mile trip would result in 2 hours on the lake. The 6-mile trip would result in 3 hours on the lake. The 8-mile trip would result in 4 hours on the lake.

    We also give our guests a voucher code or the ability to reschedule if they would like. The voucher code is valid until it has been used by our customer.

  • What is the best time for a river trip?

    Most customers visit us for a river trip from 10AM – 2PM. Those are our busiest times which could result in some wait times.  We recommend starting earlier in the day to avoid large crowds and potential wait times.

  • When does the season start and end?

    River Trip season runs from April to October. This could vary year to year depending on the weather and river conditions. We operate 7 days a week from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Reservations are required during our season.

  • How long are the river trips?

    Guests should plan to be on the river anywhere from 2 – 6 hours depending on the trip that they have selected. The 3-mile river trip will take 2 – 4 hours in a tube and 1 – 2.5 hours in a canoe or kayak. The 6-mile trip will take 2 – 4 hours in a canoe or kayak. The 8-mile trip will take 3 – 5 hours in a canoe or kayak.

  • What should I wear for a river trip?

    Guests should come prepared for any type of weather. Wear bathing suits and water shoes/sandals. You will get wet! Bring spare clothes, a beach towel, plenty of beverages and snacks, sunglasses, sunscreens, bug spray, and a waterproof case for an enjoyable river trip!

  • Where is check in?

Primitive Campsites

  • Do we offer RV hookups and/or campsites?

    No, our campsites are strictly primitive. We do not have electric sites available for RVs or 5th wheel trailers. Customers can bring a pop-up camper with a generator. We provide a picnic table and fire ring for our primitive campsites. There is an outdoor shower house and porta potty available for use.

  • Do you have a map of your campsites?

    No, we do not have a map of our campsites. Our campsites are located at our 3-mile drop off location in the field which has trees throughout. You are walking distance from the Hocking River. You are located near Old Rt-33. Campsites are chosen on a first-come first-serve basis.

  • How far away are you from Hocking Hills State Parks?

    Our primitive campsites are located 20 – 30 minutes away from the main Hocking Hills State Parks and nearby attractions. We are located in Nelsonville, OH which is centrally located to Athens and Logan, Ohio.

Outdoor Store

  • Do you offer discounts?

    We do not offer any type of discount at our outdoor retail store.

  • Do you do layaway on kayaks?

    We do not do layaway on canoes or kayaks. Equipment must be paid in full while in store. We only require 50% down on a kayak that we are getting in inventory later in the year.

  • Can you order specific products?

    Yes, our team will work hard on getting in products and inventory that will keep our customers coming back time after time. If you have a brand recommendation or a specific product you would like us to get in, we will make it happen.
